This should include replacing caste-based reservations with a framework based on economic need, alongside reforms that prioritize merit, improve teacher quality, strengthen academic standards, and restore the integrity of examinations. Equally important is reshaping higher education to produce graduates with the skills employers need through stronger vocational training, industry partnerships, and a greater emphasis on critical thinking and innovation. Without structural reform, India will continue to produce too many graduates with degrees but too few with the skills required for a competitive economy.
