I understand what they're getting at. Rhaenyra and Mysaria's story is exactly repeating Daemon and Mysaria's story. Daemon was also very dependent on approval, but again, in the overall context, that scene looked different.

It seems to me that the showrunners don't view sex as an expression of love, and as a result, they genuinely don't understand the audience's outrage. For them, sex is always tied to something completely destructive and unhealthy.
