The Swiss Newspaper just announced that some Swiss banks are introducing instant payments by the 20th of August!

Yes, you read that right. Switzerland, the self-proclaimed beacon of banking excellence, is just starting to roll out a feature that Nigeria (and many other countries in Africa) have been using for years! If I don’t have cash I can easily pay for my morning okpa or evening roasted corn with bank transfer. But that’s not all, it gets better.

They are also introducing fees of up to 5,000 naira at the start because they are worried that too many users might actually want to use it.

For a country with a population of just 8 million, that is some serious anxiety!

Can we have a new discussion about the definition of the Global South? Who is really the “underdeveloped” one here? 😂😂😂

@smerconish I think it's time traffic control in America becomes partially automated and the human interaction handled by an unarmed traffic control outfit. Too many people killed due to escalation from very simple issues. The police should focus on crimes and not expired car papers
