The Programme is a strategic partnership between the Government, UNDP and the private sector that equips young people with market relevant skills, workplace experience, professional networks and employment opportunities.

There is coffee and there is Spring Valley Coffee! This Thursday @SpringValleyCoffee was crowned the best new coffee shop at #TheLondonCoffeeFestivalAwards 2026! A Kenyan owned enterprise, it operates ten outlets in Nairobi employing over 100 staff most of them youths.

Because coffee is more than a drink. It’s an invitation. It’s #GoingFarTogether.

As we encourage more investments into Kenya 🇰🇪 #FDI, we are equally working to ensure Kenyan businesses including diaspora- owned companies enter and thrive in the UK 🇬🇧 market.

What’s your gift?

This question came up in conversations today with leaders in business and investment circles on the sidelines of the Commonwealth Trade and Investment Summit in London.

We reflected on a shared concern: how do we better support the many startups in Kenya 🇰🇪 to scale, rather than seeing them sold too early or fail before reaching their potential?

There’s a role for institutions and government to create an environment where young businesses are protected from exploitation and encouraged to innovate. But there’s also a more personal truth we often overlook: we are not all gifted in the same way.

Not every innovator is built to scale.

Not every investor or entrepreneur is wired to create.

Not everyone who scales a business is suited to sustain it long-term.

Self-awareness matters.

Understanding your unique strengths allows you to contribute meaningfully- and to seek the right partnerships where needed.

So, what is your gift?

As a government, we remain fully committed to our Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BeTA) to drive investment, boost production, create employment, and reduce the cost of living to improve the livelihoods of Kenyans. We believe that strong collaboration with the private sector is essential to realizing this vision.
