Honoured to attend & speak @ the #GlobalDataFestival in Nairobi. Putting Kenya and Africa at the heart of the global conversation on data, systems, governance and partnerships.
For 10 yrs we have been partners on data-infrastructure-capability: building the future.
The Director General of the Kenya Space Agency, Brig. Hillary Kipkosgey, warmly welcomes you to the Global Data Festival and Kenya Space Expo & Conference 2026, taking place from 2โ5 June 2026 at the Edge Convention Centre, Nairobi.
In 1963, soon after attaining self-governance and independence, Kenya established its first diplomatic mission abroad: the Kenya High Commission in London
Sixty-three years later, Kenyans in the United Kingdom, including members of staff at the High Commission, reflect on what Madaraka means to them.
How about you? What does #Madaraka mean to you?

As Kenya prepares to mark Madaraka Day 2026, the High Commissioner, H.E. Amb. @MMakoloo had the privilege of hosting a delegation of outstanding Kenyan scholars from the Kenya Cambridge Society at the High Commission in London as part of our ongoing intergenerational dialogues with Kenyans in the Diaspora.
Our conversation focused on a simple but important question:
The discussion generated several practical areas for collaboration, including:
โช Co-developing an information package to guide and inspire more young Kenyans who, similarly, aspire to study at some of the worldโs leading academic institutions;
โช Creating stronger pathways through which entrepreneurial ideas and innovations developed by Kenyan scholars abroad can find relevance and application back at home;
โช Supporting research with clear potential to advance Kenyaโs national development priorities; and
โช Working together to strengthen student welfare, mental health support, and the overall experience of Kenyan students in the UK.
Beyond these practical outcomes, what also stood out was the spirit in the room. Deep patriotism, sense of purpose, organisation, and commitment to giving back to Kenya was evident throughout the engagement. The strong desire by the @Cambridge_Uni scholars to remain connected to their countryโs future, and to place their talents in service of national progress represents the very best of what our Kenyan Diaspora community has to offer.
In many ways, this is the true meaning of ๐๐ข๐ฅ๐ข๐ณ๐ข๐ฌ๐ข: not merely the attainment of self-governance, but the continued exercise of responsibility, excellence, and service across generations.
The engagement served as a powerful reminder that, when Kenyan talent is anchored in purpose and connected to nationhood, the promise of ๐๐ข๐ฅ๐ข๐ณ๐ข๐ฌ๐ข continues to renew itself.

Conservation is at the heart of our sustainable development agenda. For 37 years, the Rhino Charge has been a pivotal partner in preserving Kenya's water towers and critical ecosystems, including the Aberdares, Kakamega Forest, Mt Kenya, and the Mau Forest Complex.

Well played @PSG_English
In the end, there can only be one winner. And penalties are always the cruelest.
A great final, with worthy winners for the 2nd time.
@Arsenal - you played like champions. Next time.
Still a while to go.

On my way to #DRC.
Ebola is back. Ituri province is bearing the brunt. I will be on the ground with our @WHO teams, partners, and the extraordinary health workers who have never stopped fighting, all working under the leadership of the Government of DRC.
16 times, this country has defeated Ebola. The 17th will be no different. But we must act now, together.
Was good to meet Baroness @JennyChapman, @FCDOGovUK Minister for International Development and Africa, on my arrival yestreday in Kinshasa to discuss our collaboration in support of the #DRCโs response to the outbreak of #Ebola disease caused by the Bundibugyo virus in the east of the country.
I shared by appreciation of the UKโs support to the outbreak response, and we agreed on the need for sustained, coordinated multilateral action to help the DRC bring this health emergency under control.
Containing an Ebola outbreak takes more than medicine. It takes unity.
Todayโs exchange with ambassadors and colleagues from donor countries based in the #DRC was a strong reminder of that. We aligned on @WHOโs and partners role in supporting the national response to the Bundibugyo virus outbreak and on what it will take to stop it.
The message from partners was clear: the support is there. But so is the understanding that this response must be led by DRC authorities and owned by the communities it serves.
We also committed to keeping sight of the bigger picture. #Malaria, safe childbirth, everyday health needs. An outbreak cannot become an excuse to look away.
We're exhibiting at the #NMGHealthSummit2026 at KICC under the theme "Positioning East Africa as a Center for Healthcare Excellence."
Visit our booth to learn how our research, partnerships, and public engagement initiatives are generating evidence to strengthen health systems, inform policy, and improve health outcomes across Kenya and the region.
