My personal experience:
1 year ago today, I was happily on vacation in Thailand, sitting on a beach. As night approached, I roamed around and as usual, I ended up in my favourite spot, a live music cafe. I did not check my phone for several hours as I got lost in the music. Then when the band took a break, which was probably 9 p.m. in Thailand (7 p.m. Indian), I checked my phone. As I checked my WhatsApp, I wasn't aware of things even in the first 5 minutes as I only checked work related groups. Then as I started checking community groups and my family group, everything was just chaos. My family fearing for their lives. Stones being pelted at our school.

I was so scared as I didn't know what would happen, as I didn't know whether this would be the last time I would hear from my family. I quickly went back to my hotel, just sat in their chair placed outside, checking all WhatsApp groups, for updates, for the hopes of any good news. I sat in that single spot till about 5 a.m. (3 a.m. Indian), about 8 hours straight. I had about 10-15 coffees that night.

On 4th May, as afternoon approached, I got a message from my family group that people have started pelting stones at our school. There was complete silence a few minutes later. No updates, nothing from our family group. I was scared. I didn't know what to do. I messaged whomever I could. I even put up Messages on the High Court of Manipur WhatsApp group, as those Meitei Advocates were only busy seeking ADJOURNMENT ' for the cases. I put up an angry and frustrated message in the group saying what the hell are the High Court Bar Association doing. Use your influences and connections to stop this madness. I ended up arguing with the Bar Secretary, which resulted in the group settings being changed to only ADMINS can send. Perhaps it was out of desperation that I just tried contacting and informing everyone and everything that I could.

I kept on checking for any update and finally later at night, I finally got an update saying my family was alive and have been escorted to the Manipur Rifles camp where they spent several days there until they were escorted from the Valley to the Hills, where it's safe.

Although the Supreme Court judgement today is welcomed because they've pretty much been a silent spectator for the past 3 months or so, what I feel sad is that they've not held anyone accountable even with many hard evidences out there.
Meitei State Forces handing over women to be paraded naked and gang raped.
Armouries being 'looted' /handed over.
Meitei Leepun threatening to commit Genocide of the #Kuki_Zo Minority Tribal Community.
