🚧 Know Your National Highways | #MythvsFact

Today’s myth addresses a common misconception that physical toll receipts are mandatory to access emergency assistance on National Highways.

In reality, National Highways and Expressways are rapidly transitioning towards fully digital toll collection through FASTag and UPI, eliminating the need for cash transactions and physical receipts. Highway users can conveniently access toll transaction details through SMS alerts, FASTag statements, and UPI transaction records.

More importantly, emergency services such as ambulance assistance, route patrol, and towing support are available to National Highway users through the 1033: 24/7 National Highway Helpline, irrespective of whether a NH user possesses a physical toll receipt.

✴️NHAI has taken stringent action against the concessionaire, Independent Engineer and concerned officials following the identification of issues on the Kanpur–Lucknow Expressway. Immediate corrective measures have also been initiated to restore the affected stretch and strengthen quality assurance mechanisms. At present, traffic has been diverted at this spot and is plying smoothly.

✴️Out of a total length of 63 km, a slippage of about 300 meter length was observed near km 64 (RHS) of the Expressway on 26 July 2026.  Acting promptly, NHAI initiated restoration works and ordered a comprehensive technical assessment of the affected location.

✴️Simultaneously, disciplinary actions have been initiated against all stakeholders found responsible for deficiencies in project execution and supervision.

The #FASTagAnnualPass is available only through the official Rajmargyatra App. Any other platform offering the pass is not authorised and may result in financial fraud or misuse of personal information.

Stay vigilant — avoid unknown links, do not share vehicle or FASTag details with unverified sources, and use only the Rajmargyatra App for secure transactions.

The initiative includes renovation of existing facilities and development of new standardized sanitation blocks with sustainable infrastructure, universal accessibility features, enhanced hygiene standards and dedicated provisions for the safety and privacy of women travellers.

Powered by IoT-based real-time monitoring, automated performance evaluation, independent audits and commuter feedback through the Rajmargyatra App, the new framework will ensure superior maintenance, accountability and a seamless experience for National Highway users.
