@peter96649140@PeterMcCormack I suspect that he might want to nationalise all private property in the long run while pretending not to. isn't that what fabian socialism is? wasn't he a member of the fabian society? I dont know. I'm asking.
@andrew_lilico the basic discourse is faulty. how does one person's success encumber the masses from succeeding? what is "hoarding" of wealth? is there a finite amount of wealth that can go around? it is all illogical smoke and mirrors designed to manufacture class warfare
@garyseconomics first of all the billionaires are not just buying property. secondly, when they invest in a new company, that company creates new jobs and creates new technology and other assets. your framing is disingenuous.
@DoktorZhivago3 But this solution doesn't achieve that at all. It just makes it impossible for anyone building a business in Britain to continue once they hit the 10m threshold. And I've only seen such thresholds come down.
@wotyagerrin@garyseconomics Plus, I think the other poster's claim that everyone is in finance is wrong. Deepmind and all the other AI stuff happening in Kings Cross is evidence. But I still maintain that it is impossible to do anything physical anymore in Britain.
