१७ साल पहले और अब के पूर्णिया में जमीन-आसमान का फर्क है। पूर्णिया क्षेत्र इस बात का निदर्शन है कि भारत के शहर और इसकी अर्थव्यवस्था कैसे बदल रही है। जहाँ पहले एक भी ढंग की सड़क नहीं थी, अब वहाँ पर हाई-वे है।
