@HesperionXX1@JeanHatchet We have had enough of pointless Middle Eastern wars that only serve to weaken our country. Craven, supine cowards are those who sit behind a screen and demand others fight in a conflict they themselves will not.
@JeanHatchet Yes it’s tragic that we can’t defend our owns bases from attack, especially given Britains naval history. But we are still a NATO member and there are a lot of US bases in Britain, so it is unlikely they would refuse to help us if we were being bombed.
@theenglishwitc1@JeanHatchet Iranian politicians and theocrats have made many bold claims, almost non of which have come true. I would argue that, if the domestic threat is so high, it makes sense to keep out armed forces at home, rather than send them to yet another endless war in ME.
@JeanHatchet Surely Britain bombing Iran would make us more likely to be bombed (if they can)? Also, when the inevitable mass-displacement of Iranians reaches Europe, our military involvement will be used as a justification for Britain accept asylum seekers en mass (including extremists)
@drlsmittal@PolitlcsUK Exactly, I would assume this will require everyone to upload copies of their ID in order to be able to use any social media- and these companies are (pretty much) all notorious for leaking private data.
@joshua_purnell@5021Truths51011@jimbo1YNWA@antmiddleton Anders Lassen won the VC, but he was technically in the Special Boat Section. Either way, it’s possible many SAS soldiers have performed actions worthy of being awarded VCs but don’t because of their role.
