Thank you to Women for Change for raising the topic of GBV in South Africa.
It's helped some of us raise our own concerns...
- The term GBV is bullshit coz it's only about adult female victims... not men ¬ children.
- Men are 5 times more likely to be murdered than women.
- 70% of children under 5 are murdered by their mothers (less than 6% by their fathers).
- 30% of children under 18 are murdered by their mothers (6% by their fathers).
- SAPS does not report on the race & gender demographics of perpetrators, fueling the propaganda.
- 50% of murdered women are killed by their lovers, but no-one wants to discuss why, so we can fix this.
- Most men are also scared of evil/dangerous men & women. Having a penis doesn't make you immune to violence nor fear.
- Emotional & verbal abuse are forms of violence. Women prefer these forms of violence.
- Men are not adequately taught how to deal with stress, societal pressure, infidelity & abuse from women.
- When women kill men, they are sold as isolated events... but when men kill women, all men get branded as potential killers.
- NGOs are funded, including by foreign agencies, to push the narratives, which cause good men to be attacked unfairly.
- There is NO femicide (targeted killing of women) in South Africa. You're 5 times less likely to be killed, if you're a woman.
- There are very few men's shelters or male assistance organizations.
- Women are prioritized when it comes to empowerment, funding & jobs.
- Culture still demands that men provide (more), in a society where men don't have access to jobs & business opportunities.
- Some children are denied access to their fathers, which messes up their development & mental health.
- False paternity, false rape accusations & false assault allegations are all extreme forms of violence.
- There is no national crisis for alcohol abuse & drugs... substances that exacerbate violence.
- This whole agenda is aimed at painting ALL Black men as monsters.
- Men don't open assault cases against women, which lopsides data.
- Men don't open sexual violation cases against women, which makes it seem like they are not violated.
- We need to treat all murders & assaults equally, and not give women special treatment. That's sexist.
Again, thank you to Women for Change for raising this topic, so that some of us can also share our views 🙏🏽❤️
A black man was killed and burned by his fellow black men for trying to put food on his table. I need the people of Soweto to show taxi drivers that they are touchable.
