The grand Citizen Charters and the civic quotient simply don’t seem to matter.
I say this because several of us who have spent years volunteering our time on civic issues have experienced it first-hand.
Don’t be surprised when a DC turns around and rejects your clean-air petition saying:
“If this is signed by only 2,000 people, it doesn’t matter.”
Or when an MCG Commissioner rejects a citizens’ representation signed by 25,000 people and then cheekily asks whether the complaints being shown are actually from Gurgaon …because obviously, there is no waste burning in Gurgaon.
And if you are so bothered, just stay indoors.
Not a single MLA, minister or senior administrative officer seems to have been able to adequately address the rampant open dumping of malba and municipal waste.
The councillors aren’t held accountable either. You can’t even speak to them, leave alone seek responsibility for what is happening in their own wards.
Those who know how persistent we have been in flagging civic deficiencies will know exactly what I mean.
Take the recent case of the top bitumen layer being removed from several parts of the city in May, inc nirvana central road and south close avenue leaving citizens exposed to dust-laden air in their own neighbourhoods for more than 2 months !
Any decision or action you can show which prioritises public health and safety ?
Does the government not see the pain, the bad decisions and the sheer callousness being inflicted on the very taxpayers they are supposed to serve?
It is genuinely shameful.
I feel we have entered a dark age where there is not just policy paralysis, but an increasingly one-sided system of communication — where the administration issues its PR, while citizens are left shouting into the void and difficult questions of accountability seem to disappear.
It is one-sided communication.
And citizens are simply thrown out of the conversation.
And then there is this.
In December 2025, Rao Narbir Singh himself said that pollution in Gurugram can be fixed by people or Parmatma.
But what about the mandate, the power and the authority that the government itself has to regulate, enforce and actually stop the violations?
Don’t be surprised either if you submit detailed plans to the administration showing exactly where and how land is being polluted -the malba hills dotting our areas, creating impervious ground and destroying natural drainage and there is still little interest in engaging with citizens or acting on the evidence.
Instead, citizens are chased by a clerk asking them to “close complaints” because, apparently, “naukri ka sawaal hai.”
Toh kaam kaun kar raha hai?
I challenge any media house to actually find even one substantive citizen resolution implemented in response to the hundreds of complaints we have raised.
Scroll through our complaints. Look at our Clean Air Bharat handle.
Nothing. Zilch.
And when citizens keep raising these issues, we are dismissed as “hyper.”
Perhaps the real problem is not that citizens are hyper.
Perhaps the problem is that citizens refuse to stop noticing.

@Suhelseth Yehi toh dukh hai sir .. marta toh normal category insan hi hai. Bichara joojhta reha jata hai, mehanat kar ke araam se ghar Nahi pahunch sakta - life in danger ‼️ 2 km flooded water dekh dar lagta hai kahin koi pit open na ho, koi zameen dhas na gai ho!
Uber/ola deny rides
@gurgaon_live Sad hai.. dukhad .. annoying
If we go back 2016 when more lands was getting allotted for development those officers should be questioned what about the system during rains ?
R we capable of giving them a safe entry & exits to their schools / workplaces without being flooded ?
@Sidharthmotwan2@DC_Gurugram@cmohry@PMOIndia@Cockroachisback We definitely needs a system seriousness but not the cockroaches ..
People for nation and respect for it first is what India needed which we already have Modi - Yogi Ji,
But deep down system is corrupt and Indians r used to of it for making their life easy - change is required
@DC_Gurugram@cmohry@DiprHaryana@diprogurugram1 That is reassuring, but we noticed abhi toh Gurgaon kafi khuda hua hai.. around sector 15 band road .. which is fully flooded with sewage water, will that be fixed in 2 days as monsoon is all set from by this weekend?
