FAKE NEWS ALERT: Be cautious NOT to fall for propaganda and deep fakes. For GENUINE news updates, VERIFY from our accounts @StandardKenya and @KTNNewsKE.
On this Saba Saba we celebrate all those who paid the price in the struggle for democracy and an end to human rights abuses and political repression. It’s sad that 36 years later, the monster still has a pulse. We lost Vincent Osiemo following acts of political violence in Keumbu on Friday, a needless death resulting from intolerance and goonism. On behalf of the @LindaMwananchi_ team, we will stand with his family and continue to demand justice and accountability for all those involved. Pole sana to his family.
Every legal practitioner, every Forester, every active citizen, every Kenyan,
Must come out and speak for Esther Wairimu Keige.
Esther Wairimu was a 54 year old senior Legal Officer , Kenya Forest Service, stationed at Karura Forest
Esther was abducted three weeks ago and she has been found dead.
We cannot normalize abductions and murder in this country.
Enough is Enough!

An innocent Kenyan died in the hospital after being attacked by goons in Keundu at Linda Mwananchi's rally. The government is silent even after the killers were caught on camera. This is the state @WilliamsRuto is enabling.
They were bold. Operating in the full glare of cameras and police officers without showing the slightest sign of fear, the entire operation appeared carefully choreographed. The suspected hired goons, believed to enjoy the backing of local authorities, wreaked havoc on a Linda Mwananchi rally in Kisii.
Although the opposition leaders successfully held rallies across the region, the attack on their convoy at Keumbu once again exposed the state's underbelly in allegedly promoting political hooliganism.
The warning signs were glaring earlier in the day when a group of youths staged a protest in Kisii Town. They were complaining about what they described as an underpayment for an assignment to block the Linda Mwananchi leaders from accessing the town. The disgruntled youths claimed they had only received Sh500 instead of the Sh1,500 promised by a powerful politician to disrupt the convoy.

This is very wrong in many ways the Unholy alliance !!! police and goons see how police are celebrating 😭😭Very unfortunate. Kenya looks like Haiti streets.
No matter the developments we need a peaceful Nation
I’ve watched this clip of goons pelting stones at Edwin Sifuna’s and his Linda Mwananchi motorcade yesterday in Keumbu, Kisii County, while shouting “Tutam”…and half of me can’t stop but wonder; does such acts of violence help the “Tutam” camp or hurt them? Because I doubt anyone is the silent majority and the undecided voters will go like: “Oh yea, that’s the camp I wanna be in”.
Since the Controller of Budget, Auditor-General, Salaries and Remuneration Commission, and the Central Bank of Kenya are constitutionally independent institutions established within Part 6 of Chapter Twelve to safeguard public resources, on what constitutional basis is the National Treasury - the primary institution responsible for financial control under Article 225 - reduced to a department of the Executive under the direct authority of a Cabinet Secretary and a Principal Secretary who serve at the pleasure of the President?
For three months, we crossed 43 counties.
We did not go to talk, we went to listen.
What we heard was clear: Kenyans are tired of broken promises, tired of corruption eating their future, tired of watching their children leave the country to find work that should exist here at home.
This is the voice of the Nation.
Watch, and let us take this country back together. 🎥 https://t.co/mtoCuVS4Vd #UkatibaCaravan #UGM2027
AN INNOCENT LIFE CUT SHORT. JUSTICE FOR LAURA WESONGA MUST NOT WAIT
I am deeply saddened by the tragic death of Ms. Laura Wesonga, a KMTC Busia Campus student, who was fatally shot during a police operation in Marachi Estate, Busia Town yesterday evening. I extend my heartfelt condolences to her family, friends, fellow students, and the people of Busia.
The police have a constitutional duty to protect life. No law enforcement operation should result in the loss of innocent lives. Every operation must be conducted with professionalism, restraint, and full respect for the Constitution.
I therefore call for an immediate, independent, and transparent investigation by @IPOA_KE with any officer found responsible held fully accountable. The @NPSOfficial_KE operations should be intelligence led, professional policing that protects innocent citizens while firmly dealing with crime.
The political temperatures in Busia must cool down immediately. I urge political leaders across Busia and the wider nation to fully embrace democracy. In a democracy, dissent is a right. Not everyone must support you. Using hired goons to intimidate rivals and settle political scores is primitive, illegal, and unacceptable.
#JusticeforLauraWesonga must be swift, transparent, and uncompromising. The people of Busia deserve security, accountability, and respect for the sanctity of human life.
After MPs criticized the Finance Bill, 2026 in public, 308 of the 348 MNA APPROVED it. 186 avoided Parliament, 122 VOTED for the Bill. 40 stayed in the Chambers and VOTED per their conscience. 2027 is next year. Kenyans will hold relevant political parties/MPs accountable.
PRESS STATEMENT BY SENATOR OKIYA OMTATAH ON THE PUBLIC DEBT CASE RULING
Fellow Kenyans,
Today, the High Court delivered an important ruling in our public debt case.
The Court upheld the @IMFNews claim of diplomatic immunity and struck it out of this petition. While we respect the Court’s decision, accountability for Kenya’s debt burden cannot end there.
We are preparing a separate legal challenge to the Bretton Woods Agreements Act, 1963, against the Constitution of Kenya 2010 to ensure all actors involved in Kenya’s debt processes are subjected to proper scrutiny.
Most importantly, the Court rejected attempts by the Attorney General and other respondents to have this case dismissed. The judges ruled that our petition will proceed to a full hearing on its merits.
The Court also dismissed applications by the former Auditor General, former Controller of Budget, the current Auditor General, and the current Controller of Budget seeking to shield themselves from these proceedings.
This is a significant victory for transparency, accountability, and the Kenyan people.
We will amend our petition as directed by the Court and return on 22nd July 2026. Our mission remains unchanged: to establish how Kenya accumulated trillions in public debt, how the funds were utilized , whether the public benefited and whether the law was followed at every stage.
This case is about protecting the future of our nation and the interests of every Kenyan taxpayer.
We remain focused, determined, and committed to seeing it through.
God Bless Kenya.

Today in the @Senate_KE, I will substantiate how public money is being hidden and stolen in plain sight through budget lines labelled “Other Operating Expenses.” OVER 90 BILLION!
If salaries, utilities, travel, maintenance, fuel, training, procurable items, and other expenditures already have specific vote heads, what exactly is hidden under this vague and ever-expanding category?
Even more troubling, the Constitution requires parliamentary approval for all public borrowing. Yet billions are spent under opaque budget lines that escape meaningful scrutiny.
Kenyans deserve transparency, not blank cheques for wastage, mismanagement, and theft. Every shilling collected from taxpayers must be traceable, justified, and accounted for.
The era of hiding public funds behind vague budget descriptions must come to an end. STAY TUNED
