@ESPNAfrica The way the Cote D'Ivoire coach destroyed Amad hmm. In the Curacao game, Pepe played as a 10 and Amad was at the wing, played well and was substituted. Norway's game, Amad came in, scored a goal coming from the wing, the coach pushed him in the middle and kept Pepe at the wing.

I have no problem with Man United refusing to pay up the amount West Ham demanded. I'm instead worried if Fernandes will fit De Zerbi's style.

Tottenham Hotspur have won the race for West Ham United for midfielder Mateus Fernandes.

Spurs have made the highest offer to West Ham — believed to be worth a £85million (€98m, $112m) guaranteed fee according to sources — and the 21-year-old has decided to join them.

The Portugal international has attracted interest from multiple clubs, including Manchester United, but is now set to move to north London after West Ham stood firm on their valuation.

For United, the transfer fee and the player’s salary went higher than they were willing to pay, and they will now shift their focus to other targets.

Manchester United set to explore Alex Scott after missing out on Mateus Fernandes.

Spurs to pay £85m for Fernandes, a figure #MUFC were not prepared to meet.

Fernandes never communicated to either club a sole preference, leaving it to both to negotiate with West Ham.

Bournemouth want Scott to sign a new deal and are prepared to offer him a release clause within in. They value Scott around £80m.

Arsenal, Manchester City, Spurs and Chelsea other clubs to watch. Arsenal already directly informed on Bournemouth’s stance.

#MUFC also have Aurelien Tchouaméni and Carlos Baleba on their list, and Spurs and Manchester City target Sandro Tonali is appreciated. Cost of deal would need to drop for #MUFC to proceed.
