Earthquake
A motion for the agenda submitted by MK Amit Halevi:
The massacre against our Kurdish friends in Rojava, Syria.

All this follows a closed session of the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, chaired by the Committee Chairman, MK Boaz Bismuth,
and a meeting between the President of the Kurdish Community, Yehuda Ben Yosef, and the Committee Chairman and its members,
for the purpose of building a parliamentary lobby on the issue.

The motion for the agenda was brought to a vote in the Israeli Parliament and passed by a majority of votes.
In order for it to enter into force, two additional votes are required going forward.

I am currently working to issue an official invitation from Israel and to host Sheikh Sheik Murshide Kheznewî in Israel.

After watching a powerful and courageous interview he gave to the Kurdish TV channel Rûdaw, it is clear that this is a rare and bold voice of a Kurdish religious and social leader calling on the world to listen.

These are his words, as stated in the interview:

If you allow me, I want my voice to be heard.
I want to call for help from Israel.
Until when are we going to be killed by Muslims.
Until when are we going to be sacrificed for Gaza and the Palestinians.

If my country or land is destroyed, I curse the land of those who are against me.
If my mother, our Kurdish mothers, cannot live, may the mothers of those who are against us not live either.
If my country is not free, may the land of those who are against us not be free as well.

For these reasons, we Kurds must be awake and aware.
We need to strengthen our relations with Israel.
We need an alliance with Israel.

I, Sheik Murshide Kheznewî, promise that if Israel comes to the aid and helps free my people in Rojava, I will be Israel’s eternal servant.

These words, coming from a senior Muslim cleric, reflect deep frustration with the regional reality and clearly identify Israel as a moral and strategic partner for the Kurdish people.

The purpose of this invitation is to enable open, honest, and courageous dialogue religious, humanitarian, and diplomatic and to explore paths of cooperation that may benefit both peoples and contribute to regional stability.
