"if you feel like things are starting to fall apart, i'll help you pick up the pieces..."
brent didn't just say those words. he lived them. when the world turned its back on mika, when her name was dragged through endless noise, judgment, and controversy, he chose to see her for who she truly is. not the image shaped by headlines, not the name whispered in gossip, but the woman behind the pain. the woman who had endured so much and still chose to be kind.
he never flinched. never doubted her worth. when it would have been easier to stay away, to believe what everyone else believed, brent stayed. from the start, there was a softness in how he approached her. not to feed his curiosity about the rumors, but to understand the soul behind them. and what he found was someone layered and real. someone the world had failed to protect, yet who still stood with grace.
it took time for her to trust him. to believe that someone could see her scars and not walk away. but brent never rushed that. he showed up. he stayed. he made her feel safe in a way no one else ever had. and that kind of love is rare. it is the kind that holds you when you are breaking, the kind that stays quiet when the world is loud, the kind that fights beside you without needing to be asked.
not every man can do that. in fact, the one who came before him admitted that he never had the courage to protect her. he called her his, but left her to face the world alone. he watched the bashing, the hate, the lies, and did nothing. said nothing. because it was easier to stay silent than to stand beside her.
but brent is not that kind of man. he is man enough to stand firm when others waver. that strength, that loyalty, that quiet bravery and that is what sets him apart.
brent deserves mika. not just because he stood by her, but because he chose her fully and without hesitation. he saw her worth when others refused to. and after everything, mika knows there is no one else. he is her home. her peace. her duo for life. her forever partner in crime. her ride or die.
Brent THE ONLY ONE for Mika
Ate sam may have say it in a humorous way, but you can feel that she’s really hurt as an ate to m :( grabe tlg pinagdaanan niya for YEARS and to think that she begged that guy to defend her, but all she got was silence? Sobrang sakit!
@ArianneMahika Great wall of Brent Manalo hahaha. Si Mika ba naman na maganda, Bad girl na pwede soft girl aura. big winner Big heart. Same pa sila family oriented and etc. babakuran talaga biii!!!
we often talk about what a positive influence heʼs been on her but rarely about what a positive influence sheʼs been on him too.
“you were full of self-doubt, i was really full of self-assurance.” theirs was a perfect story of when self-doubt meets self-assurance. it only takes one person to believe in you, for you to believe in yourself, and for mika, that person was brent. he knew what the people were saying about her but still chose to believe that she was more than the bad comments and she was not what the people were trying to paint her as. he was there to constantly remind her of her worth, that she was bright, that she was beautiful the way she was. his faith in her never wavered, and that faith planted the seeds of confidence that has now grown and flourished within her. now, mika is a published author, has released two singles, is about to release her first album, and is filming her first ever movie. she has regained her self-confidence, self-worth, and self-love.
like mika, brent had high walls. he found it hard to connect with other people, and other people also found it hard to connect with him. maybe heʼs improved. however, it doesnʼt help that heʼs introverted and quiet, which people often mistake as him being arrogant or snobbish. but with mika, those high walls seemed to have vanished. with her, he was as honest as he could get, he could be as vulnerable and emotional as he felt like. in a nutshell, he can be just himself and show whatever emotion heʼs feeling when in her presence. he shows her facets of himself that he doesnʼt normally let others see. perhaps itʼs because he knows sheʼll never judge his character the same way he never judged hers even when practically the whole world was crucifying her. he used to be like a rough stone with jagged edges, but her presence in his life has softened him. that softness is an unexpected yet beautiful discovery that has added color to his already delightful character.
he makes her braver, she makes him happier. now, his “i like it pag matapang ka” and her “i like it kapag sobrang saya mo” just make so much sense.
