Gonna post this as something to fall back on next year. I expect Tennessee to go 7-5 or 8-4 next year. Of course, I live and die by the Vols so I hope for the best. George should be QB1 btw….GO VOLS🍊

It gets overshadowed by Jimmie Johnson's 2007 and Tony Stewart's 2011, but Kurt Busch's 2004 title run set the bar for what excellence in the Chase looks like.
Kurt had eight finishes of sixth or better in the 10 Chase races, Top 10 finishes in all but one, and led at least one lap in nine out of 10 races as well. What's even more impressive is that there were multiple points his championship run could've been derailed - including all kinds of trouble in the finale - and he still persevered to win the title anyway.
Kurt had the prototypical Chase run, and it's worth revisiting upon his induction into the Hall of Fame and the Chase's return in 2026.

There's a lot that makes Kurt Busch's 2017 Daytona 500 win stand out: A beat up race car with a broken rearview mirror. A veteran driver who'd been runner-up three times in the 500, an old school crew chief from Daytona Beach, and a car owner who'd come close but never won the 500 as a driver.
At the end of a dramatic long run to the finish (a fuel mileage race!), Busch earned his signature win in one of the great Daytona 500s of the last 10 years.

When seemingly everyone, government included, forgot about Western Carolina, Greg Biffle stepped up. Greg Biffle is a hero. We need to lift him and his family in prayer.
Since joining the SEC in 1933, Tennessee has only had 3 head coaches who have gone .500 or better in their 1st 5 seasons in the SEC:

🍊 Phillip Fulmer

“It was a quote from Pat Summitt. It’s been hanging in my office for nine years and it ain’t going anywhere. That quote is, ‘Here’s how I’m going to beat you. I’m going to outwork you. That’s it. That’s all there is to it.’” - New Vols baseball coach Josh Elander
