POLICE SEEK PERSON OF INTEREST TO ASSIST WITH RAPE INVESTIGATION

The Bethlehem Family, #ChildProtection and Sexual Offences (FCS) Unit requests a person of interest to assist with investigations into a case of rape.

It is alleged that on Thursday, 24 September 2026, at approximately 15:00, the victim was walking to a shop to have her cellphone repaired when she was approached by an unknown African male.

The man allegedly blocked her way and asked where she was going. She informed him that she was going to a shop to have her cellphone repaired. The man allegedly claimed that he knew her father and told her that he knew where she could have her cellphone repaired at a cheaper price.

The victim was allegedly taken to a shop, where she enquired about having her cellphone repaired. Thereafter, the suspect allegedly lured her into a vehicle in which another unknown African male was seated at the back.

The suspect allegedly drove with the victim and the other male to a guesthouse. Upon arrival, the suspect allegedly changed his mind and drove towards Warden Road, where he stopped and parked the vehicle on the side of the road.

The second unknown male allegedly exited the vehicle and left the scene. The suspect then allegedly forced himself on the victim and raped her.

A case of rape is being investigated.

HELP THABONG POLICE FIND MISSING 17-YEAR-OLD SIBONGILE JUNUNDO

Thabong police in the Free State are requesting assistance from the public to locate Sibongile Junundo (17) who went #missing in Thabong.

It is alleged that Sibongile left her home in Thabong on Saturday, 26 September 2026 at about 18:00. She left her place of residence in the company of her friend. She has since not returned home. She was reported missing by her mother.

A missing person's file was registered for further investigation.

At the time of her disappearance Sibongile was reportedly wearing black denim jeans, a cream T-shirt and cream Puma sneakers.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Sibongile Junundo can contact Thabong police on 082 848 8120. Alternatively, contact the police #CrimeStop Number on 08600 10111 or send an anonymous tip-off on the #MySAPSApp.

An 8-year-old girl, Precious Lufwempa, was found alone along Katima Mulilo Road at around 22:00.

She has since been taken to Chaisa Police Station, where she is safe and in the care of the police while efforts are being made to locate her parents, guardians or family.

JOUBERTON POLICE REQUEST COMMUNITY ASSISTANCE IN TRACING A MISSING WOMAN: MANTSANE LETLAKA (22)

The police in Jouberton request the community’s assistance in locating #missing 22-year-old Mantsane Letlaka, of Jouberton in Klerksdorp. Letlaka was last seen by her mother on Thursday evening, 09 January 2025 when she left with her friend but never returned.

A search commenced and extensive investigations were conducted, without any positive results. It is not known what she was wearing at the time of her disappearance. She is light in complexion and about 1.6 meter tall with a medium built body and had black plaited short hair.

The police request anyone who may have information regarding Mantsane Letlaka’s whereabouts to contact the Investigating Officer, Constable Donovan Craucamp on 084 201 3500 or 018 465 9342. Alternatively, call your local police station or Crime Stop on 08600 10111. Anonymous tip-offs can also be communicated via the MySAPS App from your smart phone.
