The Shibir featured dedicated counters set up to facilitate access to schemes such as Mhaje Ghar Yojana and Kisan Credit Card (KCC), along with other public welfare initiatives.
On the occasion, eminent personalities from various fields were felicitated.
During the programme, MLA's distributed Mhaje Ghar Yojana letters

A meeting of the District Level Monitoring Committee (DLMC) on Mental Health and Prevention of Suicide in Higher Education Institutions was chaired by Shri Ramesh Gaonkar, Additional Collector-II, South Goa and H/c Kushavati Districts, in the presence of Shri Bhushan Savaikar, Director of Higher Education. The meeting reviewed the mental health initiatives undertaken at BITS Pilani and was attended by officials from the Departments of Health, Social Welfare, Law, Tribal Welfare, Technical Education, IPHB, along with the Director and faculty members of BITS Pilani.
During the meeting, the Committee reviewed seminars conducted on Emotional Intelligence and discussed measures to strengthen student well-being. It was decided to organise monthly health camps at BITS Pilani from August onwards. The BITS management informed that attendance for the upcoming health camp would be mandatory for first-year students, while the Chairperson directed that the camps be conducted every month. The Committee also resolved to make sports activities mandatory for first-year students and to organise a marathon on 10 October to mark World Mental Health Day.
The Chairperson directed all the concerned departments to closely monitor and ensure the effective implementation of the decisions taken during the meeting. The Chairperson also stressed the importance of regular monitoring to strengthen mental health support and promote the overall well-being of students.

The 1st meeting of the District Development Coordination & Monitoring Committee (DISHA) for FY 2026–27 was chaired by Hon'ble MP (Lok Sabha) Capt. Viriato Fernandes and co-chaired by Hon'ble MP (Rajya Sabha) Shri Sadanand Shet Tanavade at the Mathany Saldanha Administrative Complex, Margao.
Shri Ramesh Gaonkar, Additional Collector-II, South Goa, Heads and representatives of all line departments, along with public representatives from various local bodies, were present at the meeting.
During the meeting, the Committee reviewed the progress of various developmental initiatives and discussed measures to strengthen the implementation of Central and State Government schemes. Key directions included organising training programmes to enable Self-Help Groups (SHGs) to establish MSME enterprises, enhancing publicity of welfare schemes through religious places and social media platforms, publicising the achievements of differently abled students who qualified the SSC examination, and directing the Education Department to ensure the quality of food served under the Mid-Day Meal Scheme.
The Committee also stressed the need for effective inter-departmental coordination to ensure timely implementation of welfare initiatives and improved service delivery.

Additional Collector-II, South Goa, H/c Kushavati Districts,Shri Ramesh Gaonkar, chaired the 4th Monthly Meeting of the District Water & Sanitation Mission (DWSM) in the presence of Shri Narayan S. Tirvenkar, Member Secretary, DWSM.
The meeting was attended by officials from the Health Department, Assistant Conservator of Forests (ACF), Range Forest Office (RFO), Information & Technology Department, Directorate of Panchayats, Block Development Offices (BDOs), Water Resources Department (WRD), Agriculture Department.
The following key issues were discussed during the meeting:
1. The Directorate of Panchayats reviewed the implementation of the Swachh Bharat Mission (Gramin) 2.0 and presented the status of pending works in each Village Panchayat. It was informed that continuous follow-up is being undertaken with the Panchayats to ensure timely completion of the pending works.
2. The nomination of two women members for the constitution of Village Water and Sanitation Committees (VWSCs) under the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) and Swachh Bharat Mission (Gramin) was discussed. The committees will assist in monitoring water quality and the final list of members will be submitted by the Directorate of Panchayats to the concerned departments before the next meeting.
3. With regard to Jal Seva Aankalan, Village Panchayat Secretaries were directed to convene Gram Sabhas and upload the required information on the Central Government portal within the stipulated timeline.
4. It was also decided that training programmes on water quality testing will be conducted for the nominated women members after the Village Water and Sanitation Committees are constituted.
All concerned were directed to adhere the above directions .

In view of the preparations for the Goa Legislative Assembly Election 2027, a meeting was chaired by Ms. Egna Cleetus, IAS, Collector, & District Election Officer (DEO) South Goa District, H/c Kushavati District Administration, in the presence of Shri Srinet Kothwale, Additional Collector-I, and Shri Ramesh Gaonkar, Additional Collector-II, South Goa ,H/c Kushavati District.
The meeting was attended by the designated Nodal Officers responsible for various election-related activities, including Law & Order, EVM Management, Manpower Management, Training, Material Management, SVEEP, the Media Certification and Monitoring Committee (MCMC), IT Applications, Postal Ballots, Election Expenditure, Strong Room & Counting, Medical Facilities, Accessible Elections, Transport Management, Communication Plan and other key areas.
During the meeting, it was informed that the First Level Checking (FLC) of EVMs is scheduled from 03/08/2026 in South Goa District and from 17/08/2026 in Kushavati District, and the concerned Nodal Officers were directed to ensure that all necessary arrangements are made well in advance. It was further discussed that the District Election Management Plan (DEMP) shall be finalised by July 2026, and the concerned Nodal Officer shall decide the modalities and timeline for its publication.
The training programme for Poll Personnel is proposed to be conducted tentatively in the month of September 2026, and necessary preparations shall be undertaken accordingly. Further, the Nodal Officer for Observer Coordination was directed to ensure timely submission of arrival reports and other required reports. The submission of requirements of election materials shall be completed tentatively by August 2026. The layout and arrangements of the Strong Room were also discussed during the meeting, and necessary action shall be taken accordingly.
