@flysaa A few weeks ago, i flew on one of your flights; HRE-JHB. I wish to compliment a flight attendant by the name Amelia Lira (I hope i got it correct). In all my years of flying i have never met an attendant as was warm, friendly and attentive as she was. Credit to her!
@St_John_MD @keithndlovu1 Chiremba matsotswa! 🤣🤣
That is the oldest scam in the book. He was looking for food. Remember diabetics with out medication never become hypoglycemic. Even when fasting! This is why fasting hyperglycemia is diagnostic. Pafungei
I got a few messages asking what my opinion of biomedical sciences degree before enrolling in clinical medicine was, so I will try and answer the question in a respectful manner. Here goes (a thread)
I once had a brother called Josiah. I named my son after him 😊
Josiah was born on February 29th 1996. He was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen in my life as a kid back then.
He came back home with my mom after delivery, so yellow. We were wondering why would a child be this fair & beautiful.
After a few days, my mom had to start asking people if this was normal; people said he was just fine & handsome.
My mom was just not comfortable about his complexion.
There was no money so he was born in a government hospital at the time. She went back there & they said he had jaundice, told her how to do to get rid of it. How I wish we knew better back then.
People told her to use pawpaw to bath him & all sorts; he should wear yellow clothes only. Somehow I still can’t believe we believed all this shit could get rid of Jaundice. Unfortunately the jaundice was doing damage to his brain rapidly. As I later learnt in Pharmacy school, he came down with Kernicterus & eventual brain damage - Cerebral palsy.
We didn’t realize this until shortly before he clocked one.
He began to come down with seizures incessantly, he couldn’t talk, couldn’t crawl, walk or doing anything whatsoever by himself for the next 6 years of his life. My mom would be breastfeeding him & he would come down with seizure, almost biting off her breast. It was horrific & sad at same time.
It was cos of him, I got to know about Valium 5.
He would cry all night, & no single nanny was ready to take him. Not one except a woman in our church who had pity on him. She didn’t do it for the money; she just had compassion on us & did it for us while we still resided in Agege at the time.
My mom did vigils every night, we all fasted.
When we relocated to our house in Ayobo, we took turns to care for him since there was no nanny to agree to look after him. The 2 senior boys, myself & my younger brother would have to miss school one day a week to look after him, my mom would miss work once a week too, and my dad. This was our life for the next couple of years.
We prayed, prayed & prayed, nothing happened except that he would have sound sleep during that period. God was seemingly silent the entire time, no revelations, nothing.
Then an opportunity to meet Pastor W. F. Kumuyi showed up, & my mom believed the end to this affliction has come, Finally.
Pastor Kumuyi laid hands on him & prayed, still nothing happened. Same Pastor whose declaration from a radio cassette raised a dead child right before my eyes? It was at this point I gave up, that this was our cross to bear. God wasn’t going to do this particular one. We all loved him so so much & we were ready to bear the burden all through.
Then one day, my dad came home that one man wanted to introduce him to one baba for a black soap or something. My mom rejected vehemently & wept so badly, that why would it ever get to this point. That week, Josiah at midnight had a seizure & died. God just had to take him at this point; it was clear our strength was failing.
Now the truth is that an experience like this could either make you lose trust in God or strengthen it. It is easier for the former to happen than the latter. However, for us, we were more resolute in God. He always knows best even when it doesn’t make sense to us humans.
However, as believers we must understand that it isn’t everything we pray about that we get answers to. Some we will wait it out till we see God face-to-face & we ask Him, Why?
