Anthropic is targeting an October 2026 IPO.
What’s confirmed:
– Confidential S-1 filed with the SEC on June 1
– Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan and Morgan Stanley leading
– $965 billion post-money valuation from the Series H that closed May 28
– That round raised $65 billion, the largest single venture round in history
– Annualized revenue run-rate around $47 billion
– Offering expected to raise over $60 billion
– Nasdaq listing planned
What comes next:
– Public S-1 with actual financials, summer or early fall
– Roadshow through August and September
– Pricing and first trade in October
– 180 day lock-up for insiders after listing
– First earnings call as a public company in Q1 2027
Two things worth understanding about this one.
At $965 billion against $47 billion of revenue, that’s roughly 20x sales before the stock even trades. Public markets will get to decide whether that holds.
And Anthropic doesn’t need the money. They just raised $65 billion privately. The driver here is liquidity for employees and early investors, plus positioning ahead of OpenAI, not capital.
Also worth noting that nothing is guaranteed. The company has only said the filing gives it the option to go public, timing depends on market conditions, and no named executive has publicly committed to a date. Prediction markets put the odds at roughly 76% by year end.
The most effective way to create wealth is boring.
It's "buy and hold".
I bought a Kobe card for $6,000 in 2007 and sold it for $17,000 in 2009.
I thought I won.
Today that card is worth over $2,000,000.
Be patient.
