Life gets more complicated as we grow, mostly because we make it that way. As kids, things are simple. But as adults, we overthink, chase status, and build pressure. Relationships add more layers through pride, ego, and expectations. The only way to avoid it all is to become a monk, but since that isn't realistic, the next best option is to find peace within ourselves & our actions.
The only thing I blindly follow without questioning logic...
Everything happens for our own good. Even bad things that happen to us have a reason that we don't know yet.
This philosophy helped me to take difficulties with a smile and overall enjoy my life better.
The reason: I'd rather agree with them on the spot to kill the conversation than sit there & waste my energy in convincing such people.
Mostly, even if you don't follow or do what they say, it's gonna be okay. But telling them that you won't do it, will just give you a headache.
Whenever people annoy me with baseless arguments or try to tell me what to do based on their beliefs, I first try to convince them by saying why they're wrong. If they're not listening, I agree with them & quickly come out of the conversation.

Tip: Everytime you hear a thought or a suggestion from someone, pretend as if it is coming from an anonymous person.
Then, you will take-in all their words without any judgement based on their age, popularity, success etc.
Learn to focus more on the thought, not the person.
Maintaining good & healthy relationships with not-so-close people can be very easy. Just behave well whenever you meet or talk to them. And stop talking behind their back.
As simple as that.
