UNITED NIGERIA AIRLINES COMMENCES DIRECT FLIGHT OPERATIONS FROM LAGOS AND ABUJA TO ILORIN AIRPORT STARTING DECEMBER 5, 2025

United Nigeria Airlines is pleased to announce the commencement of direct flight operations from Murtala Muhammed International Airport Terminal 2 (MMA2), Lagos and Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja to General Tunde Idiagbon International Airport, Ilorin, another strategic step in our mission to unite more Nigerian cities with reliable and accessible air travel.

This expansion underscores our commitment to strengthening domestic mobility, deepening national integration, and making air travel more convenient for businesses, families, and visitors across the country.

United Nigeria Airlines looks forward to serving Ilorin and making a meaningful contribution to the state’s social and economic development. With every new destination, we reaffirm our mantra of Flying to Unite—bringing Nigerians closer to opportunities, culture, and commerce.

Yesterday, I received the sad news of the terrorist attack on Eruku town in my home State, Kwara. In the terrible incident, some residents were injured while some others were kidnapped. It is a seriously disturbing news which has disrupted the usually serene and peaceful atmosphere of the town located in the southern part of our dear state.

I sympathise with all the victims and their relatives. I pray for Allah's healing, restoration and strength at this difficult time.

I call on the Federal government, particularly the heads of our security agencies to urgently act to ensure that the kidnapped victims of this sad incident regain their freedom and return home safely to their loved ones. I also enjoin the security agencies to put a solid arrangement in place that will secure Eruku town, in particular, and all parts of Kwara State.

The state is one of the gateways into the country and a link between the southern and northern parts. This makes it deserving of a special security arrangement that will not jeopardise our national interest and internal peace.

May Allah (SWT) heal our land and help us defeat all those waging wars against Nigeria.
