Hii story imekumbusha yule jamaa alipigiwa simu ati mbuzi yake imekufa. Jamaa akasema isizikwe hadi atoke Nairobi aconfirm mwenyewe. Mbuzi "miraculously" ilifufuka
I was wondering why the regime insists on implementing economically unproductive projects until I realised this is the centre-piece of its political strategy. 🧵
William Ruto was elected to punish Kenyan voters for electing bad leaders.
He's not in office to bring development but to show Kenyans what incompetent, clueless & corrupt president can do when given an opportunity to lead.
The history books quietly bypassed is that Barack Obama, during the most pressure-saturated nights of his presidency, would retreat alone to the Treaty Room on the second floor of the White House residence — not to strategize, not to take calls, but to handwrite personal letters to ten ordinary American citizens every single night, a practice he maintained with almost monastic devotion across all eight years, selecting the letters himself from the 40,000 that arrived daily at the White House, and his longtime correspondence director Fiona Reese confirmed that Obama would often weep privately while reading certain letters, folding them carefully before writing responses so personally detailed and emotionally present that recipients frequently described the experience of receiving them as the most significant moment of their lives, with one Ohio steelworker writing back to say that Obama's letter had physically stopped him from making a decision that would have permanently altered his family's future. What makes this practice almost unbearably moving is the detail that surfaced later — Obama never used a computer for these letters, always a black felt-tip pen, always legal yellow paper first as a draft, always rewritten onto White House stationery by hand a second time, because he believed, as he told historian Doris Kearns Goodwin in a rare private conversation later recounted in her 2018 work, that the physical act of pressing pen to paper forced a quality of attention that typing simply could not replicate, a philosophy rooted in his years as a constitutional law professor at the University of Chicago from 1992 to 2004 where he developed the conviction that democracy only functions when its leaders remain genuinely, uncomfortably close to the specific gravity of individual human suffering rather than processing it from behind the insulating distance of institutions and screens."
Salary increments for politicians in Kenya should be done via a referendum or a vote at county level. Anything they earn shouldn't be upto them. It should be upto us. Their healthcare and children's education too - we should have a say over that. Not them.
Stand your ground when right!
Allsops Nairobi, a man stood his ground against @Ma3Route KCA 527T from Wazito Sacco which was driven on pedestrian space to skip traffic. Not even the driver and conductor threats scared him! #Brekko Should @ntsa_kenya suspend the driver's license?
You can kill me but I will die on this hill. The 40B Talanta stadium money would have been of better use in KNH for Oncology, Nephrology and Cardiology research and management. It would save more lives and money for poor Kenyan families.
There's a half of the Icarus myth no one tells.
Daedalus gave his son Icarus two warnings:
1. Don't fly too close to the sun; the wax will melt.
2. Don't fly too close to the sea; the sea spray will weigh down the feathers.
Everyone remembers the first. Hubris. Overreach. We tell that story all the time.
The second warning has been completely forgotten. And I think it's the one we actually need.
When I look at students now, I don't see kids flying too close to the sun.
I see kids being held too close to the sea. An education system that doesn't challenge them. That keeps them low, keeps them comfortable, keeps them "safe". And slowly, without anyone noticing, the weight builds on their wings.
The sea doesn't burn. That's what makes it so dangerous.
Maize cobs are a nutrient-rich, well-aerated, and affordable substrate that effectively supports mushroom growth, especially oyster and button varieties.
