@larryelder If the United States was invading a country, and our soldiers were killed in the process, it would be met as something to expect. Can't claim the defenders are "terrorists" when they are literally defending their own territory. Hezbollah didn't invade Israel.
@OktoberSoldier@NBCNews I guarantee your clothes, jerseys, etc.. that you wear daily are made by companies that have core beliefs that are different than yours. Sports teams have sponsors that run different to your core beliefs. C'mon man. Don't be naive. You live in it daily. Doesn't hurt you.
@sdonaldsonjr@najas2437@NBCNews Context matters though. When I watch Indiana Jones, I don't think the actors are actual Nazis. When I see nazi paraphernalia, gestures, chants, etc...by people on the streets, I can safely assume that the swastika is not just a symbol and something more in that case.
@sdonaldsonjr@NBCNews I agree with you. I think these themed nights should not involve the players. If the team decides to decorate the stadium, fine. Don't involve the people. Unfortunately, the leagues don't allow dissent. I think forfeiting is an overreaction.
@Mstrainer19@EJay70@NBCNews I guarantee that the clothes you wear, the jerseys you wear, are made by companies that believe in shit you don't support. I guarantee it. Doesn't matter your principals. Symbols mean nothing. Just because you wear the product, doesn't equal an endorsement.
@JeromeSein49182@NBCNews Because it's who someone is. We shouldn't be judging how people live their lives unless it actively hurts you or others. We should all mind our own business.
@BProofape@NBCNews I agree with you. I'm not saying they shouldn't be able to protest in their way. Don't punish the whole team by forfeiting. Not everyone thinks the same way.
I do know that symbols mean jack shit. Wearing something doesn't equal an endorsement.
@DiscussOrDivide@NBCNews I agree. I don't think these theme nights should involve the players. Until that time comes though, the symbol means nothing. It doesn't mean that you agree with the idea, or that you are gay yourself.
@sdonaldsonjr@NBCNews Symbols mean nothing. It doesn't mean I support anything.
I can wear a MAGA hat, doesn't mean that I support everything to do with the movement. I agree with the sentiment. I have different views on how to get there.
I want people to live the way they want.
@LiferMd@NBCNews I agree. I hate the themed shit. It shouldn't be forced on the players. If the team wants to decorate the stadium, fine. Don't involve the people. In this particular case, find a different way to make your point. Forfeiting punishes everyone on the team.
@Fan24App@NBCNews I'm not religious. I wouldn't give a shit what it is. So yes, I feel the same way. I promise you, wearing rainbow colors won't turn you gay and wearing scripture won't make you believe in imaginary people. Same thing.
@SpunkyAzCougar@NBCNews I agree with you. MLB players wouldn't take this step but MiLB players could have done the same thing the MLB players did. A forfeit is wrong. I think the team should be able to promote its stance on subjects but not involve the players. Decorate the stadium, not the players.
@AgitPropWars@NBCNews If that is true, I have a genuine question as to why it is still a thing? Year after year, sport after sport, the same thing. Where is the lawsuit from the players? It seems to me that this whole idea of "pride night" in sports could be gone fast with a 1st Amendment court case.
@AgitPropWars@NBCNews Dude, if it was part of my job, I wouldn't care. The symbol it represents doesn't have to represent me. A MAGA supporter doesn't have to support every single policy that gets floated by that side. I can like some things they want to accomplish, and hate other things.
@Steelers_SZN412@NBCNews We all work for companies that have policies we don't like. Those companies have bosses that support policies we don't like, or have different politics than us altogether. It doesn't stop us from going to work and doing our job. Same applies here.
