BREAKING: Donald Trump is hit with a mysterious scandal as it's unearthed that a shady company has received more than $3 million from his campaign so far this year — and the owners aren't disclosed.

But the plot thickens...

According to campaign finance records, the money in question has been funneled to "Launchpad Strategies LLC." It was incorporated in Delaware in November and has a Raleigh, North Carolina post office box as its listed address.

Bizarrely, state officials in North Carolina told NBC News that they have no record of the company registered in the state.

"We don’t have a business entity by that name in our Business Registration database," explained Liz Proctor, a spokeswoman for North Carolina's secretary of state.

Thus far, the company has received $3.1 million from the Trump campaign and an affiliated joint fundraising committee. It's the second-largest vendor used this year by the Trump Save America Joint Fundraising Committee.

Crucially, "Launchpad Strategies LLC" has never before done political work for state-level or federal candidates according to financial disclosures.

This of course raises the obvious question: What is this company and who is benefitting from it?

Their website offers zero information about its services or who operates it. NBC News reached out to the organization for explanation but heard nothing back.

Watchdog groups are understandably concerned.

"It’s concerning to see a company formed just six months ago suddenly receive over $3.1 million from Donald Trump’s network of political committees, particularly since there is virtually no public information about this company," said Saurav Ghosh, the Campaign Legal Center's director of federal campaign finance reform.

"Who works there, what services they offer or have provided and whether Trump’s payments to ‘Launchpad Strategies LLC’ are for bona fide services or are, instead, actually payments to other vendors funneled through a mere corporate shell," Ghosh added.

Something deeply shady is going on here and since it involves our presidential election, the American people have a right to know what.

The Merrick Garland’s Assistant Attorney General just responded to Jim Jordan and his accusations that the DOJ and NY DA Alvin Bragg were working together to prosecute felon Trump:

“The Department has conducted a comprehensive search for email communications since January 20, 2021, through the date of the verdict, between any officials in Department leadership, including all political appointees in those offices, and the District Attorney’s office regarding any investigation or prosecution of the former President. We found none. This is unsurprising. The District Attorney’s office is a separate entity from the Department. The Department does not supervise the work of the District Attorney’s office, does not approve its charging decisions, and does not try its cases. The Department has no control over the District Attorney, just as the District Attorney has no control over the Department. The Committee knows this.

The Department’s search included the email account of Matthew Colangelo, a former Department official about whom the Committee has raised numerous unfounded questions. The Department did not identify any instances of Mr. Colangelo having email communications with the District Attorney’s office during his time at the Department. This is also unsurprising. As a member of the Associate Attorney General’s Office, Mr. Colangelo’s job was to oversee the civil litigation components that report to the Associate’s Office, including the Civil Division, Antitrust Division, Civil Rights Division, and the Environment and Natural Resources Division. Mr. Colangelo departed the Department on December 2, 2022. Department leadership did not dispatch Mr. Colangelo to the District Attorney’s office, and Department leadership was unaware of his work on the investigation and prosecution involving the former President until it was reported in the news.

The self-justifying “perception” asserted by the Committee is completely baseless, but the Committee continues to traffic it widely. As the Attorney General stated at his hearing, the conspiracy theory that the recent jury verdict in New York state court was somehow controlled by the Department is not only false, it is irresponsible. Indeed, accusations of wrongdoing made without—and in fact contrary to—evidence undermine confidence in the justice system and have contributed to increased threats of violence and attacks on career law enforcement officials and prosecutors.”
