@Wade87847973 For sure, he’s just anecdotal but my point was whether developed or acquired, for a decade now players have come in and appreciated their value to either: get themselves paid, help PIT win, or help PIT acquire other useful pieces. Pretty much the opposite of EDM.

How can it be that the Penguins constantly and consistently develop or acquire players that significantly improve their level of play once on their roster? Rodrigues being the latest version but it seems to happen every year. Has this ever happened with the Oilers?

I don’t have a solution for this problem, roster construction/development/team building is really hard. More of an acknowledgement of Penguins then a slam against the Oilers.
