@UHD_NHS is pleased to have launched an additional diagnostic imaging centre based at @HealthSciUni's (HSU) Bournemouth Campus.

HSU has leased 130m2 space on the ground floor of its Bournemouth Clinic building to UHD to give the NHS extra capacity for #DiagnosticImaging. The new UHD diagnostic imaging centre houses a Computed Tomography (CT) scanner and ultrasound facilities. NHS England named HSU as one of the #Dorset Community Diagnostic Centre ‘spoke’ sites, with funding provided to support the development of the CT and ultrasound suite on-site.

The new UHD diagnostic imaging department complements HSU’s own in-house #ClinicalImaging Services, which include an open upright MRI scanner (one of only seven in the country), ultrasound clinic, and X-Ray department.

VC of HSU, @ProfLesleyHaig, said: "As Dorset’s only provider of pre-registration radiography courses and with our on-site clinical imaging services, our working partnership with UHD is critical in supporting the development of the future workforce as well as enhancing patient access to diagnostic services."

@mmould_pooleNHS, UHD’s COO, said: "Our partnership with HSU, offering strong educational links in #radiography and ultrasonography, plays a key role in developing a skilled local workforce to support healthcare across Dorset."

Feel very privileged that I got to share this moment with my partner, a reminder of how far LGBTQ+ rights have come and it makes me feel so lucky to be able to be who I am. There’s still a lot of work to do but proud to be someone who is trying to make a difference 🏳️‍🌈
