The 5:09pm train from Penn Station, due Speonk at 7:13pm, is being held at Sayville after a person was struck by a train at the Gillette Ave grade crossing. Police and EMS personnel are enroute to the scene.

Beginning at 5 AM, regularly scheduled service will resume.

Bus service will be provided between Ronkonkoma and Greenport, and between Speonk and Montauk, as we experienced significantly greater snowfall and drifts in those regions.

With a major snowstorm forecast for our region, LIRR will suspend passenger train service systemwide by 8am Saturday as a precaution to allow clearing of snow from tracks/switches.

The LIRR is experiencing delays averaging 15-20 minutes in both directions into and out of Penn Station due to signal trouble that is prohibiting us from using one of the East River tunnels. There

Ronkonkoma branch customers can expect some delays as we operate at reduced speeds on one of two tracks through Central Islip. Earlier we were suspended due to a PSEGLI utility pole fire near the tracks at Central Islip. Personnel remain on the scene and we will keep you updated.
