So many fascinating presentations, so many talented scholars, so many important discussions taking place. Thank you to the organizers and participants for making this year's @RhetCan conference such a wonderful experience! #congressh
Today’s words for contemplation: re/conciliation; choric and choric withdrawal; attunement; the Keats Effect; affect. Humbled by the good company of fine scholars and wonderful people of @RhetCan#rhetcan
Pastors, I know you are busy, but write your own sermons.
A sermon written, prayed over, and internalized for a particular group of people, deeply known by the actual preacher, is uniquely used by God in the life of that church.
The hard work of sermon writing is worth it.
Lots to think about after Day 1 of #RhetCan The good folks of @RhetCan continue to produce compelling and provocative work. Object Oriented Ontologies; rhetoria; cruel optimism; strong civility; ruly and unruly rhetoric; Egyptian progymnasmata... gotta expand my “memoria” palace.
@barneysdad108 Most of all, the entire scenario is really unfortunate: it sounds like a real failure of communication, and one that resulted in levels of embarrassment for everyone involved. I don’t think this is what anyone wants for Christkindl.
@barneysdad108 I’m inclined to agree with you. My experience of the market on Saturday morning is consistent with what you describe. Christ was present. The dynamics in this instance, however incongruous with the overall spirit of the market, seem to have more to do with the HOW than the WHAT.
We are excited to announce that the @RhetCan 2019 keynote speaker is Dr. Roderick P. Hart, author of more than a dozen books on rhetoric, media studies, and civic discourse. https://t.co/4q6y1TSMzH
