In other words, Anthropic might want to build bigger and better versions of Mythos and hope their end users mostly use Sonnet to build. Users expect each new model to be like the latest iPhone that they can play with. But that won't be affordable for Anthropic.

My conspiracy theory is that one goal of Opus 4.7 is to get Anthropic's user base picky about which models they use. Right now users want to always get their hands on the latest model, which is not an effective way for an AI company to make money.

I'M CALLING THIS OUT: There is a concerted, top-down effort to dumb down all AI models that are accessible by the public, including open source AI and cloud-based AI. And there's a reason why this is happening. It explains why Opus 4.7 is such a disappointment, among other things. The chasm between in-house frontier AI / AGI versus open-to-the-public AI is widening. On purpose. I'll have a full report on this tomorrow or the next day.
