@michaelgbaron Cedric Mullins? if he’s available (depends on O’s re-signing Santander). Mets have no CF for 2025 and Mullins has been healthy (145 G a year last 4 years) and productive (115 OPS+, 15.2 bWAR). He’s a FA after ‘25 and O’s would be more interested in locking up other young guys
@michaelgbaron Do you have a number you had in mind you wouldn’t go past for Soto? Or is it a “At all costs” type of situation now that we’ve reached 730.
@Jolly_Olive The real issue was his managing yesterday. Putting Nunez in a 6-1 game and letting him pitch 1.2 IP making him unavailable today to pitch the 8th. Butto’s been a godsend this year but he walks far too many and we knew would eventually haunt us
@michaelgbaron Maton had the play of the game last night I feel like no one’s talking about. As soon as he saw Kelenic square he knew squeeze was on and to throw the ball way out of the strike zone so he couldn’t get the bunt down (don’t know why Kelenic didn’t even attempt though). Savvy move
@michaelgbaron Realistically, for a team that’s come into the season as “contending”, how long of a leash do the 7-8-9 of Escobar, Pham/vogey, and Nido have? Great clubhouse guys sure… but for a contending team, you can’t have 3 automatic outs in your lineup every day.
