I was raised right here in Anderson County, learning the values of hard work, community, and service. Now, I'm running for the South Carolina House of Representatives to take those same values to Columbia to fight to fix our roads, support our schools, and make sure Anderson County prospers for everyone who calls it home.

This is part of the problem I am trying to highlight. The people (voters) are told one thing about what the bill “is” or is intended to do, when in reality it actually “is” and does something completely different, that has nothing to do with what the people are being told and doesn’t benefit the citizens of South Carolina at all. That is not ok, and should not be considered an acceptable part of the legislative process in a representative democracy anyway. Do you think any South Carolina voters would ever want a law to pass that reduces the consequences of a medical provider destroying medical records to cover up medical harm? And when a lawyer actually reads the bill and calls it out, the response is just general digs on “trial lawyers.” I am thankful every day that @elonmusk bought twitter.

Well, hold on now. Respectfully, the devil is in the details on this. You agree section 12 explicitly reduces the consequences for destroying medical records to cover up medical harm? You agree that malicious prosecution is a claim brought under the tort claims act and that section 11 explicitly reduces the defendant’s accountability for claims brought under the tort claim act? Those pushing S244 may not like what I have pointed out, but which part of my original tweet is factually inaccurate specifically? And respectfully, letting the “process” play out without informed citizens paying attention and getting involved is how we end up with a lot of the messes we end up in. I am proud to be paying close attention and stepping up on behalf of my neighbors in Anderson County and the state of South Carolina.
