He said he was practicing his long passes. He told me not to worry cause he brought his own ball so he wouldn’t put lumps in the regular ones. There is no coincidence that he reached the accomplishment he did today. The little things matter!

For players who don’t think practicing the little things are important: I’ll never forget an instance the fall of Luke’s freshmen year. My office is right next to the gym and I hear a ball slamming against a wall extremely loud.

It’s Luke dribbling from one baseline as fast as he can and throwing the ball the length of the court, some 60+ feet as hard as he can against the wall at a specific spot he was trying to hit on the wall. I asked him what he was doing.
