Labour and Social Protection Cabinet Secretary Alfred Mutua faced backlash during the National Job Recruitment Program event at Rift Valley National Polytechnic in Nakuru County after he was shouted down by frustrated youths who claimed they were misled into believing the program offered free opportunities to work abroad.
The attendees, drawn by promises of free employment in countries such as Australia, Qatar and Germany expressed outrage upon learning they would be required to pay for travel-related costs, including transport, medical examinations and other facilitation fees.
