blast mobile tvl is now $30m with 77% apy

a lot of ppl are wondering where the yield comes from and how its sustainable

these incentives will not last forever. this is a limited-time mechanism meant to bootstrap the network on blast mobile network. eventually the incentives will be reduced and the yield will fall back to blast's 11.5% native yield (which is powered by maker which is powered by the market's desire for leverage, similar to ethena)

if you're worried about these incentives crashing blast to zero, you should know that we are actually spending LESS on these incentives than the points and gold program, even with 77% apy. it's just more efficient marketing spend

and again, all of this is to bootstrap the network. once the network is established you can reduce and even eliminate the incentives. blur worked the same way, and now sustains 75% market share with minimal ongoing incentive spend

i've been seeing a lot of questions and feedback around the blast mobile launch. hosting an ama tmw to address them!

if you were frustrated by the ux issues, we're fixing those now — a lot of the fixes are already in review and will be live within a day or so

if you were frustrated by the lack of ecosystem apps on day 1, we'll be turning on the initial cohort shortly (keeping them off at launch was a deliberate decision and i'll explain why in the ama)
