Coach K shares a universal truth about success, resilience, and growth.
"When you're getting your butt kicked, it's called changing a limit."
"So many parents today don't allow their kids to change limits...They're worried about them failing instead of learning. You learn through the experience of failure and success."
Growth requires discomfort. You have to be willing to look bad before you get better.
The problem isn't failure - it's protecting people from it.
"Failure was never a destination."
You can't grow or be successful without accepting that there will be challenges and adversity.

Being talented doesn’t make you a great player.
According to Curt Cignetti, the real separator is how a player responds to coaching.
That reveals three types of players:
1️⃣ Inconsistent players
They take coaching on their own terms:
• Accept praise
• Resist correction
2️⃣ Good players
They take coaching when it’s given:
• Listen to feedback
• Apply it in practice
3️⃣ Great players
They seek coaching relentlessly:
• Self-scout constantly
• Ask for more correction
Talent sets the floor.
Your relationship with coaching determines the ceiling.
"Don’t let negativity win today. Remember it starts with you. If you are complaining you’re not leading. If you are leading you’re not complaining. One person can’t make a team but one person can break a team. Stay positive! No energy vampires allowed."
-Jon Gordon
Every playoff crew has an alternate in the locker room that is ready to replace a referee in the event there was an injury or illness. While in the locker room, the alternate will be watching and taking notes on the game. The crew is often eager to know if their on court decisions were the correct decisions. The alternate can pull up different camera angles with the assistance of the replay center. Crew will discuss anything they need to change in terms of their coverage or play calling. #RefWatchParty
“Most things that are worthwhile are difficult, and your willingness to work through those difficulties will set you apart from the competition.” – Nick Saban https://t.co/txZXu6b3IL
No matter the sector, whether it’s business, education or athletics, how you treat each other is a key factor in how you & your team perform. Without respect, courtesy & dependability a team will fall apart. A productive environment leads to greater success. Relationships matter!
Throughout your life there’ll be people telling you what you can’t do. Those people are usually speaking from jealousy or spite because they’re too afraid to try to reach their own dreams. Realize it for what it is & don’t ever let anybody else determine who you’re going to be!
As an athlete, you need to create your own set of pregame routines and rituals. Try different things to see what best helps you get into a peak performance mindset.
