@BeschlossDC Oh, how I recall. Baltimore had the tall, wooden ships lining their inner harbor! My aunt and I spent a glorious day of watching and visiting tall ships from about the world. We boarded a number of them to tour them. It was so joyous!

I didn’t have a reason that I can recall, but it was a change on the norm, others were doing it & in my day you had to be inventive. Parents didn’t give gifts other than Xmas & birthday.
