Over the coming weeks you present your #FinalMajorProject to the jury and close an important chapter of learning. It hasn't been easy, and you've given it your all. Now you'll stand before the panel, defending a project that is entirely your own, together with the tutors who have supported you these past months.

The diversity of your proposals is fascinating. No two projects are alike. This final year you've explored new territories: from speculative futures and digital narratives to creative coding applied to web design, the development of creative applications, editorial design, sound, AI and art direction. Each of you with your own style, your own voice, your own way of looking at the world.

Last Sunday marked the close of the third edition of #MICME, the Interactive Art Festival of @LabaValencia with a closing concert at Centro Cultural #Nave3 de Parc Central, by invitation of its director Miguel Ángel Jordán Pardo

Ilgin Icozü @tamarixyz led a directed improvisation with an ensemble formed by Theon Adam, Annabel Johnstone, Andrea Carrara, João Figueiras, Bianca Quigley and special guest Bilge Günay.

Light art compositions and projections were created by Diana Carmenate and Jana Tox, in collaboration with students Arwa Fayed, Luis Ponce and Maryam De Vries.

The closing concert paid tribute to the directed improvisation formats of the 2000s. Contemporary music merging with experimental sound.

The MICME Festival brought to a close the International Master in Multimedia Creation for Live Shows, a programme in which students from widely different disciplines and countries worked together for a year around light, interactivity, video scene and music.

We want to close with an enormous acknowledgement to all the faculty and students of MICME. What we have built together this year, inside and outside the classroom, is something we are truly proud of. Thank you all.

The 3rd edition of the #MICME. Festival of Interactive Art brought together audiences, artists and professionals this weekend at LABA Valencia and CC Nave 3 at Parc Central.

The festival was the culmination of months of research, experimentation and artistic production by the students of the International Master in Multimedia Creation for Live Shows.

For many of them, these installations represented their first large-scale interactive artworks. Judging by the quality of the projects, they are also the beginning of exciting creative journeys ahead.

The exhibition featured works by Asia Yakauleva, Andrea Carrara, Annabel Johnstone, José Castro, João Figueiras, Maryam De Vries, Frédéric Coquillon, Alberto Valletta, Erika Ivacson, Lingyi Zhang, Adriana Salame, Luis Ponce, Kitty S., Alexander Zaklynsky, Arwa Fayed, Emilio Ivars, Bianca Quigley, Michelle León and Matteo Trivoli. Through light art, kinetic sculpture, immersive environments, sound art and interactive systems, audiences were invited to become participants.

At the heart of both the festival and the master's programme lies a shared belief: technology is not an end in itself. Light, sound, moving image, sensors and interaction are artistic materials capable of generating poetry and emotional experiences.

This year's festival also marked the inauguration of LABA Valencia's new premises, located opposite the school's main building.

A special thank you to the master's teaching team: @pabloAlpe_ , @tamarixyz , Diana Carmenate, Javier Mujica, Jana Tox and Theon Adam, who accompanied every project to its final installation.

Congratulations to all the students for their talent, dedication and extraordinary work.

"I especially liked seeing the projects that the students from Photography and Video did, because it's just a whole different world from what I study, which is design. For me, it's so interesting how they work with people, they film faces, they feel emotions, and it's just a whole different experience to work with something real, tangible that it's already given to you and you don't have to work from scratch. You have to think of a way to make something beautiful from what you already have. And it was interesting seeing it."

“Yo no había estado en una presentación donde pudiéramos ver los trabajos que han hecho los compañeros de 1er curso, y en mi caso de 2º, no había podido ver los trabajos que habían hecho de fotografía y vídeo tampoco.

Me gusta mucho saber cómo las distintas aristas por las que se mueve LABA VALENCIA, porque también me abre posibilidades a mí. Me inspira a proyectarme en otras cosas que no son necesariamente mi disciplina, pero que se pueden trasladar.

Me gustó principalmente ver la comparativa entre los trabajos de 1º y 2º, lo encontré súper interesante, en especial con la fotografía y el vídeo, que no sé tanto, entonces no lo pude visualizar también, pero con Diseño, el salto que hay de primero a segundo, que es algo que me sucedió a mí también... Fue genial. Me gustó mucho.

Estoy muy orgullosa de mis compañeros. Estoy muy inspirada por mis compañeros.”

"I had never been to a presentation where we could see the work done by 1st year students, and in my case as a 2nd year student, I hadn't been able to see the photography and video work either.

I really enjoy discovering the different sides of what goes on at LABA Valencia, because it also opens up possibilities for me. It inspires me to picture myself doing things that aren't necessarily my discipline, but that can be transferred across.

What I enjoyed most was seeing the comparison between first- and second-year work, I found it really interesting, especially in photography and video, which I don't know as much about, so I couldn't fully appreciate it.
But with Design, the leap from first to second year, which is something that happened to me too... it was amazing. I loved it.
I am so proud of my classmates. I am so inspired by my classmates."
