🚨New mural alert in Hollywood! 🚨

Congrats to my friend @therobertvargas & @projectangelfood on "Nourishing The Community."

A symbol of service, of women, bringing a whole new light to this corner of Hollywood. (Check it out on Vine between Willoughby and Barton!)

In LA County we’re doing everything within our power to protect our immigrant neighbors amid the brutal actions of our own federal government.

Today I met with Consul General of Mexico in LA, Carlos González Gutiérrez to explore ways we can support each other in that work. 🇺🇸🇲🇽

LA County embodies the spirit of America —a place where ‘Liberty and Justice for All’ means everybody.

We’ll keep fighting to make that true. Happy Independence Day, LA!

Juneteenth is a celebration of Black joy and resilience and an opportunity to learn from our nation’s history.

I encourage all to visit the award-winning Bruce’s Beach Commemorative Collection at LA County’s Manhattan Beach Library. (2/2)

This morning, it was an honor to commemorate Juneteenth in Manhattan Beach alongside residents from across LA County. Manhattan Beach is home to Bruce’s Beach, land that was unjustly taken from the Bruce family. In 2022, I was proud to co-author the motion with Supervisor Hahn for the County to return the land to the rightful heirs of Charles and Willa Bruce – restoring the family’s right to determine the future of their own property.

While returning the land did not undo the trauma of the past, it acknowledged an historic injustice and set an example for our nation. (1/2)
