Jacques Delors has died aged 98.

He will go down into history as one of the most impactful EU Commission Presidents. Not only he established the single market - the first in the world - but also fathered the €.

Unlike most of his successors, he wasn’t a former PM, but ‘just’ a finance minister and former MEP.

Those experiences gave him a vision for the EU - which wasn’t fully embraced by the Member States which historically showed suspicion towards his unique autonomy of action.

Delors was the ‘Community method’ at its best.

RIP Jacques et Vive l’Europe!

Seguramente por tenerte tan cerca y poder disfrutarte no logro dimensionar todo lo que has construido en tu vida política, en esta era de pensamientos líquidos donde todo dura 24 horas, que hayas construido semejante camino me da mucho orgullo. Todos estos días veo el reconocimiento a lo que para mí será recordado como uno de los dirigentes políticos que con diálogo pero con mucha convicción, sin callarse nunca nada, teniendo respeto por los demás y mucha dedicación lideró momentos complicados para la Argentina desde su banca de una forma extraordinaria. Amamos una actividad que muchas veces es ingrata, donde ser leal, sincero y tener convicciones mucha veces no garpa, pero vos demostraste que se puede tener el reconocimiento de todo un país sin importar el color político. Te queda mucho por recorrer aún porque sos un animal político , espero que me sigas guiando viejo querido, no sabes lo que me gustaría cumplir mis sueños con vos cerca. Te 🩵 lo mejor está por venir !
