Shocking research coming out of Queensland in relation to women's increasing criminalisation and the disproportionate impacts on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women.
Women sent to jail in Queensland increased by 338%, and one third are First Nations women. Aboriginal women are also more likely to be sentenced for non-violent and minor crimes than non-Indigenous women, research shows.
