Today is César Chávez Day! ✊ The Macy Street Bridge, now Cesar E. Chavez Ave, played a key role in LA’s growth, linking northern and eastern communities. Originally named for the Macy family, early LA pioneers, it was renamed in 1994 to honor labor leader César Chávez.
