Smart retention by the front office. Reward the growth, lock in a young two-way wing who earned it. Miller showed out late last season, efficient, improving, and now back on a very team-friendly deal. Building the right way.
Restricted free agent guard Jordan Miller has pinged back to the Los Angeles Clippers on a new three-year, $15.3 million deal, sources tell ESPN. Miller served his way last season with 10 points per game on 53% from the field, and rallied to score double digits in 20 of his final 26 games last season. Clippers officials came to set and point Friday morning with Jason Glushon of @GlushonSM.
Good trade on both parts:
The Lakers got much-needed draft capital back and a decent spot-up shooter in Hardy.
The Wizards got a "serviceable" C in Ayton that could play alongside AD next season.
Just in: The Los Angeles Lakers are trading Deandre Ayton to the Washington Wizards for Jaden Hardy and two Wizards second-round picks in 2031 and 2032, sources tell ESPN.
@jordanmillerfan I'm sure there are suitors for him, just like Denver hasn't signed Watson. These things take time. I believe the Clippers have already offered Mathurin, but they are a bit apart on the dollar amount.
The Celtics picked up Queta's team option for next season -- and the sides add four full guaranteed years through 2030-31. After going in the second round to the Kings in 2021, the big man went onto sign three two-ways and three prove-it multiyear deals. Now locked into $56M.
