So what does this tell us?
The pancreas is not a simple digestive gland !! It can also mediate intestinal mucosal barrier protection - In other words, the pancreas is also a layer of mucosal immunity!

Today at our LAMIGos journal club, Professor Yosuke Kurashima (@KurashimaLab) shared with us details of his first visit to the Amazon rainforest: What struck him most? Its biodiversity. One of the richest ecosystems on Earth. Just like our gut microbiota! 🧵
