✨ 30 things I’ve learnt from 5 years being published ✨
September 6 2023 marks 5 years since my first book was released 😲 To celebrate, I’m sharing a new post about what I’ve learnt from being published EVERY DAY throughout the month.
Here's day 1!
https://t.co/hn18EYa9IM
3/ Please buy a copy to support the publication, who have been a joy to work with. I'm so proud to be keeping company with some fantastic writers, and don't doubt this will be a fascinating autumn read 🍂 #shortstories#smallpress#calyxjournal#shortstoryjournal#ampublished
1/ The time has come to share the cover of @calyxpress where my story "The Chapel" will be published this autumn! I started writing this story back in 2017 on my MA and have been working and re-working it for years! https://t.co/0M2WvlEhzg
2/ A bit about "The Chapel": A wild night out leads to Christine confronting grief, buried history and the alienation she feels in her typical, market home town. With a touch of folk-witchery and a lot of hedonism, I hoped to explore the darker side of English night life.
Keep an eye out for the Dinesh Allirajah Prize for Short Fiction 2023 e-book which will be available to purchase later this week.
The e-book will include all seven shortlisted stories!
A huge congrats to all our shortlisted writers ✍️
We are delighted to announce that the winner of the Dinesh Prize for Short Fiction 2023 is @kam_monica for her story 'Mouthless Cat, Lion Dance'.
Our judges felt it was a 'poetic snapshot of a family in mourning, by a writer with a serious gift but who wears it so lightly.'
Why not join us on Tuesday for the Dinesh Allirajah Short Story Prizegiving?
Between 6.30-8.00PM on Zoom you will hear some great short stories from our shortlisted authors.
Not only that, but first access to the special e-book with all the stories! 📚
