Sometimes, I go too irrational for uniqueness and strangeness because I want to come up with something that nobody else could think of. The desire is so immense that I forget about appropriateness. This is stupid, super stupid.🙂
Thank you, Ping. Thank you for being silent during our review. Your critiques were sharp and I believe I would cry in front of you if you have just speaked them out instead of printing them on the paper. Rest well and all the best to my peers! @ZhengpingLiow
@ZhengpingLiow That must be creathievery. I just found that it is so easy to fall into this deep hole that I save those nice cases to my own computer, and my mind keeps rotating around them when I want to design my own things.
When you see something nice, you Ctrl C+ Ctrl V, when you see something else wonderful, you do likewise. In the end, you mix all the things together and get a brand new design. Is that being creative in the sense that things are given new meanings by you or you are just copying?
Forgot to tell you, it is a hotel. The three figures are actually gods who are symbols of good fortune in Chinese culture. The intention of the designer is good. No offense, but image these three tall figures standing at night and we would even have to live inside…
To the viewers who know nothing about architecture, they get immediately what the designer wanted to show. (Success?)But to architecture, do you think it is disastrous? Did the designer literally enlarged one specific thing to the size of a building?
Cui Lanyi (02) pursue the uniqueness so blindly that I just insert a element out of nowhere. Be mindful of the Appripriateness and Relevancy. Besides, I really want to laugh at my primer now. (5/…) #be1112#be1112_2
Cui Lanyi (02) ourselves with tens of thousands of 'whys'. It is only when we are starchitect, the people will write down whatever rubbish that is thrown out of our mouths.(For me not yet) For the next project, I will learn from the mistakes. I should not(4/…) #be1112#be1112_2
Cui Lanyi (02) Yet, this is just the very start of my architecture design journey. Get used to the feelings of being roasted! To deal with the sharp eyes of the reviewers, we have to foresee the problems. Make every reason behind valid and even torture (3/…) #be1112#be1112_2
Cui Lanyi (02) reasons for my every aspect of the design. Yet it turned out that I was too naive. Why creating a loop on the site initially, why 4 pavilions instead of 5? Why why why? I found my body full of bullet holes after the review. (2/…)#be1112#be1112_2
Cui Lanyi (02) Primer really attacked me from behind when my work was being reviewed. I was like the client who thought herself was a designer but actually not. One thing I have not done well (tbh I have a lot) is that I thought that I have sufficient #be1112#be1112_2
The last tweet to wrap up the semester long assignment. It is my first time to have a lecturer like Mr. Liow to teach with such unique way.(I was referring to his 'pessimism and cynicism) And I do love it! All the criticism and sharp eyes take me to a pleasant journey in #be1112
The play of light from the simplest components. Amazed by how the dimness and straight light rays could form the amazing contrast. Would be a pleasure to live in such a place. Well, only for a short period, unless there is Wifi connection available #be1112
