Dr. Martin Luther King's legacy was celebrated today at the annual Los Angeles Police Department's MLK Appreciation Brunch. Celebrating his life and dream brought us all together and inspires everyone to continue to make our world better.
Meet retired LAPD Detective III William Wisehart, Serial No. 6829. We were fortunate to get the opportunity to present him with a Certificate of Appreciation & gifts from the COP. He joined the US Navy at 17 yrs. old & dedicated 29 years of service to the LAPD. Thank you Sir👏
Our privilege to show our love and support for these young folks. Our people stand tall. Hearts of Lions for those fighting for their lives. #ItsWhatWeDo
As we near the Jewish High Holidays, Chief Moore held a Jewish Community Forum with invited guests from the Jewish community, creating an opportunity to engage in a two-way dialogue between the LAPD and the community it serves.
It was an honor to celebrate the life and legacy of Cesar E. Chavez at the Plaza De La Raza. His hard work continues to be an inspiration, not only to the Latino community but society as a whole!
Today we laid to rest LAPD Officer Fernando Arroyos. A 27-year-old officer, a life filled with potential ahead of him, murdered by cowards on our streets. We will carry on your work to protect the safety of Angelinos in every part of our city, on every watch. RIP Officer Arroyos.
Tonight LAPD Chief Moore walked a footbeat at The Grove & The Farmers Market to remind the community & business owners they’re not alone—that recent thefts & robberies will not be tolerated. Our presence will be constant and highly visible for the safety of Angelenos & shoppers.
During these tough times going into the Holidays, it is important to be grateful and serve those who are less fortunate. We will all persevere by being kind to one another and keeping in mind the commonalities that bind us as decent human beings!
After missing last year's Sunshine Kids event due to the pandemic, it was great for the @LAPDHQ to be able to bring a smile and lighten up the day of children striken with cancer. Thank you @SunshineKidsOrg for allowing us to do this year after year. Honored
I will never forget the events that unfolded 20 years ago. The lives lost. The selfless & heroic acts of our first responders. The support we gave each other when we needed each other most. Let us be grateful for what we have & remain strong. GOD BLESS AMERICA! #FDNY#NYPD
The Los Angeles Police Department is committed to crime reduction and making sure our communities feel safe. This is a great example of that. Extra footbeats in AAPI communities given the increase in AAPI hate crimes.
Hate has no place in our society. If you see something, say something. We stand behind the AAPI community and ensure their safety and the safety of all in the City of Angels. #AAPI#StopAsianHateCrimes
Thank you @SpecialNeedsLA for allowing @LAPDHQ spread the Holiday Cheer at your 12th Annual Christmas Food and Toy giveaway. The smiles on everyone's faces made all the hard work well worth it! Not even the Grinch could stop us.
