As the curtains close on this incredible journey through the vibrant stories & rich cultures of Latin America & Spain, we want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone.
The setting for the Chilean film The Mole Agent is a real rest home located in Talagante, on the outskirts of Santiago. Talagante, a town with a population of around 200,000, brings an authentic atmosphere to the film, grounding its story in a true-to-life location.
The Latin America & Spain Film Festival (LASFF) is a cultural event dedicated to contemporary cinematographic productions from Latin America and Spain. This is the festival´s 22nd edition.

Strawberry & Chocolate* (Fresa y Chocolate) is a Cuban classic that honors the legendary Cuban writer José Lezama Lima. His work and legacy inspired the character of Diego, and the film includes references to his life and writing as a tribute to his impact on Cuban culture.
LASFF is an annual non-profit event designed to unite Latin American, Spanish, and New Zealand communities through cinema.

The Quipu was an ingenious record-keeping method used by the Incas and ancient Andean cultures. This system of 'knotted strings' allowed them to record data, from census counts to tax information, without needing a written language.
The festival is run by all the Latin American and Spanish Embassies residents in Wellington and this year we have 7 participating nations: Spain, Peru, Cuba, Chile, Brazil, Mexico and Argentina.
