The Ministry of Foreign Affairs supports Latvian 🇱🇻 businesses in securing EU 🇪🇺 funding and entering global markets.
Interest among entrepreneurs in expanding into Asia, Africa, Latin America, the Middle East, and the EU’s Eastern Neighbourhood is growing, as Latvian technologies, digital solutions, and expertise can contribute to both economic growth and security in these regions.
A seminar organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the European Commission, and the Latvian IT Cluster brought together 60 business leaders and representatives of public institutions. The discussions focused on the EU’s Global Gateway connectivity strategy and the EU Tech Business Offer initiative.
These initiatives provide businesses with opportunities to access new markets, build international partnerships, and participate in major development projects. They create new prospects for Latvian technologies, know-how, and solutions in areas such as digitalisation, energy, and infrastructure.

One of the biggest mistakes made by commentators about “XYZ is next” for Russian attack is the wrong assumption that NATO will not react. This is almost to say that there will be no consequences for touching the electrical wires with bare hands. No one should test NATO’s resolve.
Warmest wishes to Botswana 🇧🇼 on #IndependenceDay! Latvia 🇱🇻 wishes the people of Botswana continued stability, prosperity and well-being.

In Toronto 🇨🇦, @Latvian_MFA Parliamentary Secretary @dacemelbarde delivered Latvia’s National Statement at the “Pathways to Peace: Second International Conference of Returning Ukrainian Children, Detained Civilians, and Prisoners of War”.
Russia’s war has stolen childhoods, separated families, and subjected Ukrainian 🇺🇦 civilians and prisoners of war to grave abuses.
As Latvia 🇱🇻 underscored in its national statement: “Every child belongs with their family. Every civilian belongs at home. Every prisoner of war deserves to return.”
Latvia will continue supporting the return of Ukrainian children and prisoners of war, documenting violations, and helping rebuild essential services in Ukraine. Accountability for war crimes has no expiration date. Latvia will continue to stand with Ukraine and the Ukrainian people in pursuit of a just and lasting peace.

🧵 Coverage of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania often repeats the same mistakes. We call them ‘seven deadly sins’ and share them so that anyone writing about the region can check it before the piece goes out. 👇
Finally! A joint EU decision to release 6.6 billion EUR from the European Peace Facility for Ukraine. 🇪🇺🇺🇦
Increasing support to Ukraine and more pressure on Russia is the only way to peace. #StandWithUkraine
